The Building
With the first shovel of sand on the 15th of October 1999 the reality of HausRheinsberg started.
With 170 builders and 35 regional companies the hotel for physically challenged persons took scarcely 20 months to complete. In a neighbouring building "Warmbad" a furnished sample room was established. This will later be used for physiotherapy.
In co-operation and intensive discussions with handicapped people we managed to test and create the optimal room so numerous details could be optimised beyond the current DIN standards.
Naturally the even flow from room to balconies is easy. The bathrooms are totally equipped for wheelchairs. Many have height adjustable basins, shower stools and hinged hand grips. Care beds can be made available if desired. The swimming facilities include a sauna, swimming pool with slide and lifter, the skittle alley and fitness gym are all adapted for wheelchairs.
The hotel was opened in June 2001. 70 employees are employed from the Rheinsberg and surrounding areas. Since August 01, 15 training positions were created. In 2002, 7 more students began their careers.
